Plans for the year 2025 - Solo Game Development Career
·Happy new year everyone!
I decided to take a few weeks vacation pretty much right after the release of Seeker: Quest.
During the vacation I had plenty of time to think about the upcoming year, see my friends and family, see nature and even get bored while playing video games! (Such as: Dofus)
With all these thoughts of what I want to do with my “Solo game developer” career, I’m feeling so energized and hyped to get going again.
For this year, I want to start embracing the fact that I’m more than just a solo game developer. I’m a (amateur) writer, I have an ability to form stories and I like to draw. I also love creating audio. Not only sound effects, but audio books as well. (You can listen one “old” classic here)
So for this year, I want to focus on the following:
- Solo Game Development Podcasts
- Audiobooks (Fantasy & Motivational)
- Books & Novels (Physical & Digital)
- Full-blown games (Mostly PC & Steam)
Since this is a rather broad take of different art formats, I will need a place to share them all. After some research, I’ve decided to start using Patreon as my main platform. (See my Patreon page here)
Patreon itself is rather unfamiliar to me. But it seems that it’s either becoming or already is a rather “trusted” platform among people (especially in the US).
Instead of building my own web store front, I thought that using an existing one will get me on the move faster.
To celebrate this, I also published the newest chapter for the Seeker: The Beginning -book to my Patreon page. It’s free to be read by anyone, but in case you want to hop into the “support train” , consider purchasing the collection HERE.
I will also keep up my weekly Youtube posts (Subscribe to my channel here) where I cover my tips, tricks, findings and thoughts from my journey. As transparent as possible.
But most importantly, I will make games!
Seeker: Quest is on the top-priority, obviously. But as I have to think a little bit about the future as well, my next game already has a Steam page up which you can wishlist. (Cats With Standards On Steam)
It’s going to be a year to remember!
Let’s have a great one, shall we? <3
