Testing a New Blogging Style: What to Expect?
·I’ve decided to go towards different types of blog posting. For the past years, I’ve been writing a blog now and then where I aim to gather information from different sources and combine them into an article, which brings actual value to its readers.
Obviously, there is nothing new in that. That’s how blogs are written. Or at least the valuable ones. I’ve decided to try a slightly different approach, just to see if it helps me keep writing. (To stay motivated)
I have so many opinions and thoughts of my own that I want to share and discuss with people. The problem with writing your own opinions is that it doesn’t really have any sources to back it up. So you end up just sharing your thoughts, rather than combining “best practices” into one place.
But I still feel that there is so much that I can share just by writing down thoughts on different topics from my experiences, findings, and thoughts around the game industry. I will be focusing a lot on the “mindset of making games.” What kind of stuff I think affects that and what kind of solutions might suit these.
So, heads up to you, dear reader! I will be releasing a whole different type of blog post within the coming months, and I aim to release two articles per month (bi-weekly). The posts will also be short ones, which you can read within a minute or two.
I will try to keep this habit for at least a year. Maybe after that, I can look back and see, did people like this approach? Did I like it? And was I able to create interesting enough content with this “new” mindset? At least it’s more in line with something that I want to do.
And that can’t be very wrong in the long run.
PS: I'm making a game! If you want to support my game development journey, feel free to try out the demo and maybe wishlist Seeker: Quest on Steam.
